Description
We here are definitely fans of Casa Cuevas and when I got to sample the Patrimonio at TPE 2021 in Las Vegas I was 100% sold. The Patrimonio which translates to "heritage" is an homage to family, fatherhood and perseverance. This name is directly related to Luis Cuevas Jr's father the patron of the family brand.
From Luis Cuevas, “Patrimonio is a project that is extremely near and dear to my son Alec and myself. When my father left Cuba, he left tobacco behind. Years later, after rebuilding in the U.S.A., he was able to revive our family tobacco history by opening his cigar factory in the Dominican Republic. Because of my father’s perseverance, our family legacy continues to live on.”
The Patrimonio falls into the realm of the La Mandarria in reference to being a full bodied blend. This is a beautifully crafted and blended cigar that you would expect from Casa Cuevas and coming out of their own Tabacalera las Lavas Factory in the Dominican Republic. The blend is beautifully executed with a light natural sweetness, notes of cedar, toasted oak, and light pepper with the strength creeping in at about the halfway point and lightly fading towards the last third. This cigar has a wonderfully unique profile unlike any other in their catalog.
This beauty is comprised of:
Filler: Peruvian, Dominican & Nicaraguan
Binder: Ecuadorian Habano
Wrapper: Honduran Corojo Colorado
